You are a headless horseman. The burning jack-o’-lantern on your shoulders is your head, your light, and your only ammo.

Throw it and you might hit the other rider. Miss and you’re riding blind in the fog until you get back to where it landed. Spare jack-o’-lanterns grow in the grass. Grab them and they’re your reload while your head is out.

First to 30 hits wins. Get a 10-hit lead and it ends early. The mercy rule can be turned off in Options.

MODES

  • One Player against the CPU (easy, normal, hard)
  • Target Practice, no fog
  • Two players on one screen, one gamepad each
  • Demo, CPU against CPU
  • A tutorial that walks through all of it in about two minutes

IN THE GRASS

  • Crows: hunt the other rider around the stones
  • Candles: a ring that stops throws
  • Seeds: free rapid spit that never costs your head
  • Gourds: every throw splits three ways
  • Bounce: throws bank off the stones
  • Harvest Moon: you can’t be hit and you smash through stones
  • Nightmare Gallop: double speed, double throw rate

A lit head glows through the fog. Lose it and you go dark. Your light shrinks to a small ring until you ride back and put it on.
